

Holy Cross Parish, Kakuma Refugee Camp
Holy Cross Parish, situated within Kakuma Refugee Camp, serves as a vital spiritual and community hub for the refugees in the camp and in the settlement schemes. Managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco, the parish was established to address the pastoral needs of diverse communities, offering spiritual guidance and fostering unity in a multicultural setting. The parish provides regular sacraments, catechesis, and faith formation. It also supports the community through educational and social outreach programs.
Collaborating closely with Don Bosco Kakuma’s TVET centers, the parish integrates vocational training into its mission, empowering individuals to rebuild their lives. A special feature of the parish is the Savio Club, which together about 750 children aged between 8 and 12 years. The programme is supported by German friends of Kakumahilfe led by Dr. Alfons Nowak.
