St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Nzaikoni, Machakos
Founded by the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1991, Nzaikoni Parish serves 19 outstations, fostering strong laity involvement through small Christian communities. With vibrant Akamba liturgies of music and dance, the parish emphasizes youth formation, operating 25 Sunday schools, reaching 10 secondary schools, and nurturing vocations—producing over 40 priests and religious to date
The parish boasts a Don Bosco Integrated Human Development Centre for retreats and gatherings and a subsidized computer school affiliated with Don Bosco Boys’ Town, Nairobi. Collaborating with the Daughters of the Sacred Heart since 1999, its holistic mission integrates education, healthcare, and pastoral care for 2,400 Catholic families.
